Though Bangkok has 3 raunchy red light districts there are only several best places where you can find groups of Thai Freelancers waiting around for customers like you. But knowing where to find them is not enough.

To start off, you should know where to stay to avoid paying extra hotel fees and and to save money on short time hotels. Many seasoned visitors to Bangkok’s red light district prefer Thai freelancers for several reasons, rather then heading over to a go go bar.

First you never have to pay a bar fine to a go go bar which cost a minimum of 500 baht whenever you take a bar girl out. Second you never have to waste money on several expensive beers and a lady drink for the bar girl which will cost you all together another 500 baht. Go go bars will not allow you to sit in their bar and watch the ladies if you don’t buy drinks. So already you’ve spent 1000 baht and that’s not including the extra activity price of being with the bar girl for short time (1 hour 1500 baht – 2000 baht) or long time (overnight 2500 baht – 4000 baht+).

Dealing with Thai freelancers on the other hand is much more loose and relax, with no pressure. You simply go to a spot where they hang out. You can even buy a litre of Heineken for 45 baht at a 7 Eleven and drink on the streets while watching the ladies. And when you find one you like you can chat with her and not have to buy her a drink.

Here are several places where you can find Thai freelancers:

Nana Hotel Parking Lot
Rajah Hotel Coffee Shop behind Nana Hotel (Russian & Ukrainian women)
Between Sukhumvit Soi 5 and Soi 7 (a mix of Thai, Africans, and ladyboys)
Nana Entertainment Plaza (at the entrance you’ll find a handful of ladyboys)
Thermae Bar (Sukhumvit Soi 15, basement of Ruamchitt Hotel)

Here’s a really good tip: If you find a girl you like but don’t want to pay 1500 baht for short time you can always offer her 1000 baht if she can’t find a customer. Believe me, if it’s a really slow night and she needs to pay the rent she’ll take you up on the offer. A little patience definitely goes a long way.

After you’ve found someone and have agreed on a price you have a choice of going to a short time hotel or back to your own hotel. If you decide to go to a short time hotel you’ll have to pay 300 baht for an hour. Don’t worry about knowing where a short time hotel is, you’re companion will know of the closest one.

Your next and best option is to take her back to your hotel. But you must make sure that you’re staying at a guest friendly hotel. If you don’t you’ll end up paying as high as 1000 baht per companion per night. There are many popular guest friendly hotels near where Thai freelancers hang out. And the best places to find them is near the red light district of Nana. And as you can see from the list above of freelancer hangouts, all of them are in Nana red light district.

It really makes sense for you to stay in a guest friendly hotel in Nana’s red light district. After all you’ve already paid for the rooms and you’re bed is perfectly fine. Also because if you’re paying short time you only have 1 hour. We all know how fast 1 hour can really go by. And you don’t want to spend most of that time in a taxi getting back to your hotel on the other side of town. Other times girls will charge you more because they will feel they shouldn’t have to pay for their taxi ride when you’re finished.

The Welsh Rugby Union (WRU), was established in 1881, the same year that Wales played their first international against England. Wales’ performances in the Home Nations Championship (now the Six Nations) continued to improve, experiencing their first ‘golden age’ between 1900 and 1911.

They won eight Five Nations Championships. They played in the inaugural Rugby World Cup in 1987 where they achieved their best ever result of third. Following the professionalisation of rugby in 1995, Wales hosted the 1999 World Cup and, in 2005, won their first Six Nations Grand Slam which was followed by a second in 2008. Their 2005 Grand Slam is notable for being the first ever team to gain the accolade playing most matches away from home.

Wales play in red jerseys embroidered with the Prince of Wales’s feathers. Their current home ground is the Millennium Stadium, completed in 1999 to replace the National Stadium at Cardiff Arms Park. Ten former Welsh players have been inducted into the International Rugby Hall of Fame, and two of the ten have been inducted into the IRB Hall of Fame.

Rugby union is a popular sport in Italy. The sport is thought to have been introduced to the country in the early 1900s, with an organizational committee being established in 1911. The Super 10 competition is the main club rugby competition in the country, although clubs also participate in Europe’s Heineken Cup. Italy competes annually in the Six Nations Championship, and has competed at the Rugby World Cup. Italy is classified as a tier one nation by the International Rugby Board.

Italy finally joined the Six Nations Championship in 2000. They managed to get their second Six Nations win in 2003 30-22 against Wales. Italy was the only Six Nations country not to advance to the knock-out stage. Their third win came against Scotland in 2004.

Most of the Italian national team play in club competitions in England and France, which, being at a higher standard to the Italian league allows the side to make consistent progression. However, this is not always seen through results and it will undoubtedly be a long time before they win their first Six Nations Championship. More and more Italians are coming to watch rugby union games and whereas before most of the fans at the Stadio Flaminio were away fans, now Italy has a good home crowd. In the 2006 Six Nations Championship the Italian team performed strongly against every team.

In the 2007 Six Nations Championship, Italy started poorly, losing to France 3-39. However, Italy’s performance improved considerably, and they held reigning World champions England to a 20-7 result at Twickenham, with the Italian’s Alessandro Troncon being named man of the match.

The 2008 Six Nations Championship saw the Italians again finish in last place, albeit by only a three point margin. They took part in close matches against Ireland, England and France respectively and managed a sole victory, defeating Scotland 23-20 in Rome in the last round of matches.

2010 will be a very tough year for the Azzuri’s with three of their 6 Nations matches being away form home – they will certainly be targeting the England game on Valentine’s Day and the Scotland game on the 27/02/2010.

Rugby union is a popular sport in Italy. The sport is thought to have been introduced to the country in the early 1900s, with an organizational committee being established in 1911. The Super 10 competition is the main club rugby competition in the country, although clubs also participate in Europe’s Heineken Cup. Italy competes annually in the Six Nations Championship, and has competed at the Rugby World Cup. Italy is classified as a tier one nation by the International Rugby Board.

Italy finally joined the Six Nations Championship in 2000. They managed to get their second Six Nations win in 2003 30-22 against Wales. Italy was the only Six Nations country not to advance to the knock-out stage. Their third win came against Scotland in 2004.

Most of the Italian national team play in club competitions in England and France, which, being at a higher standard to the Italian league allows the side to make consistent progression. However, this is not always seen through results and it will undoubtedly be a long time before they win their first Six Nations Championship. More and more Italians are coming to watch rugby union games and whereas before most of the fans at the Stadio Flaminio were away fans, now Italy has a good home crowd. In the 2006 Six Nations Championship the Italian team performed strongly against every team.

In the 2007 Six Nations Championship, Italy started poorly, losing to France 3-39. However, Italy’s performance improved considerably, and they held reigning World champions England to a 20-7 result at Twickenham, with the Italian’s Alessandro Troncon being named man of the match.

The 2008 Six Nations Championship saw the Italians again finish in last place, albeit by only a three point margin. They took part in close matches against Ireland, England and France respectively and managed a sole victory, defeating Scotland 23-20 in Rome in the last round of matches.

2010 will be a very tough year for the Azzuri’s with three of their 6 Nations matches being away form home – they will certainly be targeting the England game on Valentine’s Day and the Scotland game on the 27/02/2010.

The Scottish Rugby Union (SRU) is the governing body of rugby union in Scotland. It is the second oldest Rugby Union, being founded in 1873.

The Scotland national rugby union team represents Scotland in international rugby union. Rugby union in Scotland is administered by the Scottish Rugby Union. The Scotland rugby union team is currently ranked ninth in the IRB World Rankings as at 16 November 2009, and makes up one quarter of the British and Irish Lions rugby team. They annually take part in the Six Nations and participate in the Rugby World Cup, which takes place every four years.

Scottish rugby dates back to 1871, where they beat England in the first international rugby union match at Raeburn Place. Since it started in 1883, Scotland competed in the Five Nations winning it 14 times outright – including the last ever Five Nations in 1999 – and sharing it another 8. In 2000 the competition accepted a sixth competitor, Italy, thus forming the Six Nations. Since this change, Scotland has yet to win the competition. The Rugby World Cup was introduced in 1987 and Scotland has competed in all five competitions, the last being in 2007. Scotland’s best finish came in 1991, where they lost to the All Blacks in the third place play-off.

Scotland has a strong rivalry with the English national team. They both annually compete for the Calcutta Cup. Each year, this fixture is played out as part of the Six Nations. England are the current holders after defeating Scotland 26â12 at Twickenham in the 2009 Six Nations. While Scotland has defeated England the last two times the sides have played at the Scots’ home ground of Murrayfield, they have recorded few victories over their “Auld Enemy” in recent years, beating them just four times since 1990. Furthermore, their last away victory over England was in 1983.

If you’re ever in Bangkok’s sex district on a budget and consider things there as expensive then head on over to Pattaya. When it comes to sleeping, eating and meeting ladies of the night, Pattaya is definitely a more affordable place for tourists on a shoe string budget.

Cheapest Way to Get to Pattaya

Pattaya is easy to get to. In Bangkok, head over to Eastern Terminal bus station in Ekkamai. A fare cost 113 baht and buses depart every 30 – 40 minutes starting at 5am to 11pm. The bus from Bangkok will drop you off at the Pattaya bus terminal and from there on you’ll find plenty of taxis to take you to where ever you’re staying at. This is the cheapest way. A taxi will cost you around B2,000.

Cheap places to find ladies of the night

Men come from all over the world to meet ladies in Pattaya. You can meet them in go go bars. But you have to buy overpriced drinks for yourself and the bar girl. Then you have to pay a bar fine before you can take her back to your hotel. Total those all together and you’re already paying 800 baht. But that’s not all, you still have to pay the lady for her time to roll in bed with you. For short time (1 hour) it’s 1,500 baht. Long time (overnight) it’s around 2,500 baht to 5,000 baht depending on the time of night or how good looking she is. So what’s your best option?

Take a stroll through Walking Street which leads into Beach road. These streets are easy to find. They run along Pattaya beach. You’ll find Thai freelancers all along these places, standing around either in groups or alone. You’ll also find ladyboys scattered around there too. Best thing of all it’s free to watch these girls and you won’t have to buy a beer like in a go go bar. And even if you want one, just head over to a 7 Eleven store and pick yourself up a 2 liter Heineken beer for 45 baht.

And when you find one you like you won’t even have to pay a bar fine which can cost 500 baht.

Most Thai freelancers charge around 1,000 baht for short time and around 3,000 baht to 4,000 baht for long time. But if you’re not too picky on looks you can convince a freelancer to go with you for 400 baht for short time.

Cheap Hotels to Stay in Pattaya

There are many cheap budget hotels in Pattaya that are right in the sex district. You’ll find many for around 500 baht per night for a basic room. But it’s really important that you stay in a hotel that has a guest friendly policy. This just means the hotel doesn’t have a policy of charging their guests a fee for taking a lady back to their rooms. A non-guest friendly hotel would typically charge you 300 baht to 500 baht.

Staying in a guest friendly hotel is key to saving money and makes total sense. It’s a better alternative to taking a bar girl or freelancer to a short time hotel. A room there will cost you 300 baht for the hour. So why pay extra when your own hotel room is perfectly fine for what you’ve come to Pattaya to do.

Cheap eats in Pattaya

Who doesn’t like a breakfast buffet? The Lek Hotel on Pattaya 2nd Road between soi 12 and soi 13 offers a breakfast buffet for 95 baht. You don’t have to be a hotel guest. It starts at 7am and ends at 1pm (yes 1pm, it’s not a mistake). Dinner is 160 baht and starts at 6pm to 10:30pm. Eating at the Lek Hotel is very popular and the food is decent with plenty of Thai and international cuisine.

And of course there are plenty of street side restaurants with plates of chicken and rice for only 30 baht or barbecue chicken or pork skewers for 10 baht to keep your belly full.

Pattaya is certainly a dream come true for budget travelers and if you know where to stay, eat and have fun, the money in your bank account can really go a long way.

DEPENDING on who you speak to, Andy Robinson is a deeply complex character or a straightforward ‘rugby nut’ with no more convoluted a trait than overt passion for the oval-ball sport.

He likes other sports, taught many as a PE teacher in the 1980s, but believes all to be inferior to rugby. He came through a tough apprenticeship in amateur rugby in which he wanted to play in a back row position in which his relatively diminutive size – 5ft 9in and less than 14 stones – did not compute in a world of English giants. But come through it he did, in the openside flanker position he wanted, and to international level.

Had he not it is unlikely we would be here, sitting at Murrayfield Stadium contemplating his first RBS Six Nations Championship as Scotland’s head coach. Intriguing, exhilarating and crushing at times, Robinson’s career has been unique. The past decade alone has witnessed a journey more fascinating than any enjoyed by his predecessors.

The Noughties began with Robinson stepping from Bath to coach in the England camp, moved on with Lions duties in 2001 and 2005, either side of England’s first World Cup triumph in Australia in 2003, fell flat with resignation from the England post in 2006, lifted again with an appointment as Edinburgh coach in 2007 and ended with him back in the Test arena, but this time waving Saltires and developing a quiet, tight-lipped appreciation of O Flower of Scotland.

In this three-part series, we delve into Robinson’s psyche, look back with him to his playing days in an effort to understand what shaped the man and the coach of 2010, dissect an approach to the game built up from nearly 30 years of experience and conclude on Wednesday, the day he names his RBS Six Nations squad, with how he believes Scotland can begin to turn around the disappointments of the past decade.

He starts with a smile. Frank Hadden did the same and it stood him in good stead for his first Six Nations, a carbon copy of Robinson’s opening schedule, which brought three wins. But Robinson could hardly be more different to those that have taken charge of Scotland before him.

The obvious difference is that he is English, born where the cider flows, in Taunton, Somerset. The only other non-Scot to coach the nation’s rugby team since rugby ‘coaches’ first emerged 40 years ago was Matt Williams; a tousy two seasons in 2004-5. Robinson is markedly different to that coach too.

“The key to me I suppose is what’s deep in my soul, my values,” he says. “Firstly, it is to inspire people to be the best they can be, and I have a real passion for that. I enjoyed being a teacher and trying to inspire young people, and then captaining Bath, leading players, and moving into professional rugby.

“Secondly, I have a desire to be the best coach that I can be, which again comes from inside. The other key aspect of my values is the desire to earn the respect of the people I’m working with, and that comes from what you do every day, respecting people and earning their respect, and that is as strong now as it was when I first started out.

“Finally, I enjoy the challenge and there’s no greater challenge than setting your team up and yourself up to play the following week, whether it be Heineken Cup or international rugby where you coach Scotland to play five different teams in the Six Nations.

“To me, rugby is the greatest game you can play because of the physical challenge. You have to be able to deal with that. A lot of teams will lose and not have the consistency because they can’t front up week in week out. A team will win one week and then lose because they can’t deliver that the following week, and that is something we are working hard on with the Scottish players and teams.”

There are many sides to consistency on the field of play, preparation, basic skills and mental approach being other key contributors, but it is revealing that Robinson seizes on the physical aspect. Clearly, that has always attracted Robinson as past teammates recall a terrier-like “little bastard” – that word is used frequently by those who played against him – who seemed to live for confrontation.

He needed that, the determination, inner steel and self-belief for the challenges that lay between him and the top of the game, but the battles also moulded him.

“I was constantly told I would play hooker, that I wasn’t big enough or good enough to play anywhere else. I began to realise then that I had to be different; that I had to be the fittest player on the pitch and have the highest work-rate if I was to survive and get the chance to do the job.

“I first joined Bath in 1985 (the year after they won their first national silverware], while in my third year at uni, and then got my first PE job at Radstock Ridlington Comprehensive in Bath. I was 22 then, but at Bath I was up against the club captain Roger Spurrell (ex-paratrooper] for the openside berth.

“But in those days there was a lot of rugby, and a lot of opportunity. There was not yet an official championship in England, but a merit table, and Bath played twice a week. I made my debut in 1986 against Pontypool, and we claimed their long-running home record, then beat Leicester 6-3, then Newport on Wednesday and Llanelli Scarlets on Saturday.

“We trained Mondays, played Tuesdays or Wednesdays, trained Thursdays and played Saturday, and at a club like Bath you had to deliver in every game. The A team had a strong fixture list too, which meant some training sessions were harder than some games.”

That provides a vivid picture of the competitiveness in English rugby more than 20 to 30 years ago, and yet England were second-best to Scotland for much of the early 1980s and, from this side of Hadrian’s Wall, appeared to lack the fitness of sides featuring Roy Laidlaw, John Rutherford, the Hastings brothers and John Jeffrey, to name a few.

Robinson says the view was similar from the south, and, furthermore, believes that this was another reason why he made it in the game.

“Players becoming really fit was probably the next stage for the game in England to go to in that mid to late 80s period, but that suited me because it gave me a bit of an edge on some of the forwards around at the time.

“I had to work out how I could get past the guys around me. I was on the bench for an England trial before the Six Nations in 1988, and Gary Rees was up against Peter Winterbottom, and I studied those two through the game. I tried to work out how I could be as good as them and what extra I could bring.

“One of the key points was being fitter, so that I could do things or be places they couldn’t. There was a confidence about England then that we could play. I made my debut on the tour to Australia in 1988, and we lost, but I remember them coming here that autumn and we won handsomely (28-19] with guys like the Underwoods (Tony and Rory] and Jerry Guscott coming through, a captain in Will Carling, and a pack that could win ball.

“The big step was generating mobility in that pack, so England needed fit forwards. It came, Wade Dooley developed and became a force, Mike Teague came through and Peter went to Harlequins and that made him as a player, developing his handling skills and open play.

“I was involved in the 12-12 draw with Scotland in 1989 and that really opened my eyes to the speed the game was played at with Scotland. There was complete chaos throughout the whole game. I had thought Australia were very quick but it was even quicker against Scotland – balls being kicked out of rucks, so much loose play – and also there was a level of physicality that the Scottish guys brought to it. They were cracking games to play in.”

Now a key figure in Bath’s dominance of the English game, Robinson toured with the 1989 British and Irish Lions to Australia, but found himself behind skipper Finlay Calder in the race for the No7 jersey. He still played in six non-Test matches and believes he learned a lot about international rugby and the Scottish ethos from the time spent with Calder, Jeffrey, David Sole and others, and the coaching of Ian McGeechan.

It also shaped his thinking on how to blend two nations’ preferences for rucking and mauling and how to balance differing styles with which to attack teams. He cites good New Zealand sides, who could maul and ruck, and talks in depth about French teams who had the dynamism to really hurt opponents.

In 1989 Robinson was voted ‘European Player of the Year’, but was injured and fell out of the Test picture, having to wait 50 internationals before winning his eighth and final cap, six years later.

But for all the agonies suffered trying to alter that stark fact, and from the knowledge that pours forth in discussion of his playing days, and his undoubted 24/7 commitment to the game, life outside rugby has also shaped Robinson. He does not offer it up, but will talk about the influence of his father, Ray, the impact on him of his father’s battle with multiple sclerosis; a man of 36, talented all-round sportsman gradually struck down with the disease to the extent that he was confined to a wheelchair and blind.

Ray remained a regular supporter of his son and Bath, where he would have a guide at the Recreation Ground to talk him through the game and then offer his son some words of criticism, and encouragement, afterwards. He died in 2001, aged 61, but remains an inspiration to the now 45-year-old Robinson.

A legendary Scot was also a crucial figure in his early learning, the former Scotland back row and captain Jim Greenwood, who helped pull Scotland from its worst run of defeats (17) in the 1950s. Robinson, it appears, was one of many coaches in whom Greenwood cultivated a deep appreciation of and love for rugby while a student at Loughborough University.

“That was a great place for me to learn,” says Robinson, his eyes glistening and smile widening at the memory. “I was lectured by Jim. He was fantastic.

“He’s a great man, very softly spoken and a fantastic rugby coach who was so far ahead of his time it was incredible. He is a man who has an aura about him. I remember him lecturing me on the culture of Japan, where he spent time coaching, the sporting culture of America, as well as what was going on here of course. There’s no doubt that he fuelled the desire in me.”

Robinson continues: “I have fed off many things, as everyone does. In rugby, I have learned something from every coach I worked with, and players.

“After I was injured in 1989, I realised when I was out that I had become too worried about becoming bigger, about the way I though had to play, rather than just focusing on me playing the way that suited me.

“I was never going to be 6ft 3in, or play like someone that size, so I had to understand I had to play more my way. That was when I played at my best, post-that, 91, 92, with ball in hand, good support play; I just went out and played.

“I began to spend most of my time working with the backs at Bath, where Brian Ashton was working on running lines, handling, putting myself under that pressure, so I could support the backs right through games.

“It was an understanding that…” he laughs, “probably that lineouts were boring! To be honest, I’m staggered even now to see the number of lineouts that openside flankers jump in, particularly when they’re winning the ball off the top – the first focus has to be on that first ruck and who’s going to win it.

“I try to explain that to the guys who lead the lineout. I expect the openside to be there to win that first ball or receive the off-load, for the speed of ball we need. That’s an utterly important part of what we do.”

That transference of knowledge from Test player to Test coach marks Robinson out from recent Scotland coaches. Whether he feels the need to talk more about his learning from Scots to engender support in his new habitat or not, it is clear he has always had a respect for Scottish rugby which makes his move north less of a mystery.

Martin Johnson is poised to keep England’s team selection simple for their opening RBS Six Nations Championship game against Wales on February 6.

Whereas he gambled last autumn with a squad racked by injury, the England team manager will look to field players in their specialist positions in an attempt to gain precious momentum at the start of the tournament.

This could prove a turning point for Mathew Tait, who played well for Sale Sharks against Toulouse on Sunday and has edged ahead of Dan Hipkiss at outside centre. Johnson considers the uncapped Shontayne Hape as back-up for Riki Flutey at inside centre and, although neither Delon Armitage nor Ben Foden covered himself with glory in the final round of European matches, Armitage has credit in the bank from his excellent season at full back during 2008-09.

The England coaching staff would have hoped for greater poise from their Heineken Cup contenders, of whom only Northampton reached the last eight. “In an ideal world we’d have three or four teams there because it is good for the players, but we haven’t,” Johnson said at the launch in London yesterday of the Six Nations. “Some guys have come into camp disappointed from the weekend but they get into England mode very quickly.

Grand Slam winning captain Ryan Jones discusses Wales’ forthcoming Twickenham clash.

Wales are seeking to take the fight to the England front row in their RBS Six Nations opener at Twickenham.

Coach Warren Gatland hopes to name an all-British and Irish Lions Test front row of Gethin Jenkins, Matthew Rees and Adam Jones for the 6 February clash.

With Andrew Sheridan and Julian White injured, England is likely to start with the relatively inexperienced Tim Payne, Dylan Hartley and David Wilson.

“We will target areas depending on who England pick up front,” Gatland said.

“I am happy with our experience in the front five. Games are won up front and it is important that our tight five fronts up.”

England manager Martin Johnson has also called up Worcester loose-head prop Matt Mullan and Leicester tight-head Dan Cole into his Six Nations squad.

At least one of the 22-year-old front-rowers are likely is named in the match-day squad for the opening game against Wales.

Although Wales have won just once at Twickenham in 22 years that success came two years ago on their last visit, while Gatland’s side also triumphed 23-15 in Cardiff in last year’s championship.

“It is a great game to be starting with,” Gatland said.

“I just hope it will be the catalyst it was two years ago [when a Wales victory kick-started a Grand Slam campaign], which gave us the confidence and momentum for the rest of the championship.

“Both teams are very similar and whoever wins will go in with a bit of confidence for the rest of the championship.

“The two sides will be desperate to win the game and both sides realise how important it is to win the first game.”

The list includes Jones and Rees, plus star wing Shane Williams, who has played little rugby since being hurt during Wales’ autumn defeat to Australia at the end of November.

There is also the added complication of Lee Byrne’s disciplinary hearing on Friday.

The full-back faces a European Rugby Cup misconduct complaint following his brief appearance as a 16th player for the Ospreys against Leicester in the Heineken Cup.

If Byrne is hit with a ban then Gatland has the option of retaining James Hook in the number 15 shirt.

Hook filled in admirably at full-back during the autumn international series while his Ospreys team-mate was sidelined by injury.

“Adam Jones and Matthew Rees have not had a lot of rugby, and Lee Byrne and Shane Williams not a significant amount of time,” Gatland added.

BRIAN OâDRISCOLL is Six Nations royalty, it really is that simple.

No other player has bestrode the tournament like the Dubliner, and no-oneÂ has tasted the highs and lows of rugbyâs greatest annual tournament.

The Ireland captain, who liftedÂ his countryâs first Grand Slam in 61 years last season, has been theÂ tournamentâs greatest performer since the Six Nations started in 2000.

OâDriscoll isnât just one of the top players of his generation, he wouldÂ have been a true great in any era. How he wasnât voted the IRBâs world playerÂ of the year for 2009, after his wonderful exploits with Ireland, Leinster andÂ the Lions, is still a mystery.

OâDriscoll, a folk idol in Ireland, has reinvented himself from theÂ effervescent and side-stepping young buck of his early 20s into one of theÂ gameâs true Test warriors.

And even the most rabid Welsh rugby fan, after the emotion had subsided ofÂ last-gasp defeat at the Millennium Stadium last March, would have begrudgedÂ OâDriscoll the joy of finally nailing a Grand Slam.

After a decade of coming up short and any manner of personal andÂ professional disappointments, OâDriscoll finally had a year he deserved.

On top of a first Grand Slam for more than half a century, he lifted theÂ Heineken Cup with Leinster and proved he is still a world-class centre with theÂ Lions in South Africa.

But those who think OâDriscollâs desire and ambition has been sated by lastÂ seasonâs success are in for a surprise. He may be in the twilight of a trulyÂ brilliant career, but his warrior spirit is still going strong.

âYou get selfish after attaining a goal and you get a taste for it,â saidÂ OâDriscoll. âIt doesnât mean your ambition isnât still there and if anything,Â it probably heightens it.

âI enjoyed the trappings that came with it, the winning itself, theÂ celebrations in the country.

âIt was great and if you could do it again, why not? Itâs better than notÂ doing it again.â

But donât for one minute think OâDriscoll is being arrogant or any sort ofÂ complacency has set in. He is under no doubt about the task facing Ireland, whoÂ kick off at home to Italy and follow that with away games against France andÂ England.

The Irish wrap up with Croke Park clashes with Wales and Scotland.

âWe are owed nothing in this Six Nations after being unbeaten last year. WeÂ have to earn it again and we start from scratch,â said OâDriscoll.

âWe are not affected by public perception, itâs what our own view in theÂ camp is and what we want to achieve ourselves which is important.

âWe donât go shouting to the world about what we want to do … but we doÂ want to get better as a team and play a better brand of rugby.â

âAs Irish people, we donât do theÂ middle ground. We either do the very top or the very bottom,â said OâDriscoll.

What impresses about OâDriscoll is how he has reinvented himself as aÂ player. That yard of explosive pace may have gone but these days the first fewÂ yards are in his head.

He is always one step ahead of his opponent and is renowned as one of theÂ great tacticians.

But OâDriscoll knows that while he is at the peak of his powers, the end ofÂ his career is closer than the beginning.

âI really enjoyed the last year or so,â said OâDriscoll.

âThere are plenty of things I havenâtÂ achieved. The World Cup is there in the background, but 18 months is a hugeÂ time in international rugby.â

The focus, for the time being, is a repeat of last seasonâs exploits,Â although the fixture schedule is arguably more daunting this time around.

âAnd England can be a very difficultÂ team to beat at Twickenham when they build some momentum. That will beÂ extremely tough, too.

âBut what makes it such a great competition is that in the eight times IÂ have led my country since 2003, I have always talked about four or five teamsÂ capable of winning the Six Nations.

âLook at Scotland, they are the mostÂ improved side when you look at the way they beat Australia in November.

âWales won the Grand Slam the year before us and Italy can take a scalp evenÂ if they arenât capable of winning five games on the bounce.

Ireland have set themselves a mission impossible during this tournament âÂ back-to-back Grand Slams. They are capable of it, but the last side to achieveÂ that were France in 1997 and 1998, so how does OâDriscoll go about achievingÂ the feat?

âYou donât retain anything, you give it back and try and win it again. ThatÂ is the way we will look at it,â said OâDriscoll.

Time Is Now On The Side Of Six Nations Coaches So We Must Use It Well â Six Nations 2010

This is the week that cost millions. It’s also the week when coaches reallyÂ earn their money. Fail and you get found out. As the clock counts down to theÂ Six Nations, this is when we should reap the benefits of deals such as the onesÂ done between the Rugby Football Union and the English clubs and Wales and itsÂ regions that guarantee managers and coaches like Martin Johnson and WarrenÂ Gatland time â something like two weeks â to work with their players beforeÂ internationals.

Once â and not so long ago that there aren’t plenty of former players whoÂ can remember the days and recount them in great detail â Test teams used to getÂ together in the middle of the week of an international, have a couple ofÂ practice sessions which weren’t much more than kickabouts, dish out the matchâdayÂ kit and then play on the Saturday. Gradually that got extended to a week,Â before in some countries that week became a fortnight.

Now, thanks to the agreement in England, and that five-year deal doneÂ between the Welsh Rugby Union and the regions last September, we are all, moreÂ or less, on a level footing and have a decent amount of time to manage,Â micro-manage if you like, the players in the run-up to the Six Nations.

England and Martin Johnson are in Portugal doing some warm-weather work;Â Andy Robinson has Scotland up at St Andrews working and living alongside theÂ Old Course; the French are in residence at their stately pile in Marcoussis,Â just outside Paris; Declan Kidney has taken the champions, Ireland, to his homeÂ patch, Limerick; Nick Mallett has the Italy training squad of 30 based justÂ south-east of Rome; and we have Wales at our stateâofâthe-art and much admiredÂ centre recently opened alongside the team hotel to the west of Cardiff.

We are all working away in pretty pleasant surroundings but only too soonÂ we’ll see how clever we’ve been making best use of our time, and particularÂ that extra time recently agreed, because it is the work done during that firstÂ week in camp that is particularly important.

As I have said, not so long ago teams had a couple of training games to getÂ to know one another. There might be a bit of scrummaging and lineout work, butÂ that was that. Now it’s no longer one size fits all and we have plenty to fitÂ in.

Circumstances change which means that training regimes have to alter asÂ well. For example, a player who has just gone through a bruising Heineken CupÂ encounter can’t be expected to arrive in camp and get down to the heavy stuffÂ straight away. His week probably starts with plenty of R&R and some conditioning,Â whereas someone who has played only lightly needs something more physical.

Regime’s are tailored to the players, with Adam Jones, our tighthead propÂ who hasn’t had much game-time since damaging his shoulder on tour with theÂ Lions in the summer, actually opting to play for his club this weekend to getÂ match-hardened. Likewise, Shane Williams, Kristian Phillips and Tom Prydie willÂ also play for the Ospreys tonight against the Dragons, while the ScarletsÂ hooker Matthew Rees has a match against Wasps to look forward to, and TomÂ Shanklin and Sam Warburton are both set to play for Cardiff Blues againstÂ Newcastle. The coaches will look on with fingers and toes crossed, hoping noÂ one gets injured.

For others in the squad there may be some light contact work or conditioning,Â but that is backed up with plenty of analysis of the upcoming opposition andÂ time learning the drills and calls for set plays like scrums and lineouts andÂ what follows them and how we want to play.

So why was the week just gone more important? Well everyone has their ownÂ style of coaching; Leicester, for example, have the reputation of being fairlyÂ rigorous and physical, so I’d be surprised if there had not been plenty ofÂ contact work organised by Martin Johnson, left, in Portugal, whereas otherÂ clubs take a softly, softly approach. However, it seems to be common thinkingÂ among many coaches that as the big day get closer, the players are increasinglyÂ left to themselves.

Obviously there are training sessions,Â but there comes a point when players can take only so much on board and have toÂ work things out for themselves. That being so, it could be said that if we, theÂ coaches, haven’t done our stuff by now then there’s a good chance it mightÂ never get done.

Amsterdam – a city sometimes called the Venice of the north – is a city surrounded by water. Holland is a small country located between Germany and England across the sea. Whether it be along the North Sea or one of the many canals and rivers throughout the city, finding a place to stay with a waterfront view is an easy task. This modernized city with an old world charm offers a variety of places for visitors to stay from the finest international chain hotels to an intimate inn and even a houseboat. For a relatively small city Amsterdam contains nearly 300 hotels and that does not include the 100 plus guesthouses, the hostels, cottages, houseboats, and even some apartments for extended stays. But even with all of these available hotel rooms and other places to stay, finding lodgings during the tourist season can be very difficult. As a result, it is recommended for tourists to book a room or other lodging in advance. By booking ahead guests will be ensured that not only will they get the room that they want but at a price they desire as well. There are websites that list these hotels and similar accommodations in the city by category – large, number of stars, small, etc.

Here are a few of Amsterdam’s most popular attractions and sightseeing activities listed to make your travel experience the best possible.

Museums

Some 50 of the over 400 museums in The Netherlands are located within the city of Amsterdam and are among the city’s most popular tourist attractions. Besides the typical works of the masters, modern art, film, and photography; some of the museums that can be found in Amsterdam are the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, a Botanical Museum, a museum dedicated to the Dutch resistance during World War II, the Heineken Experience, the Ajax Museum (Dutch football team), a houseboat museum, a torture museum, museums dedicated to sex and erotica, NEMO a hands on science museum for the children that is housed in a boat shaped building, the shipping museum, a Biblical Museum, the tropical museum and the Jewish museum. There are also several art galleries within the city.

The largest of the museums is the Rijksmuseum, which houses Dutch art dating as far back as some early religious works, and of course; the masters.

Located in the middle of the city is the Anne Frank House, where the young teen wrote her diary while hiding from the Nazi’s with her family. The original diary is on display at the house.

The Houseboat Museum is an actual houseboat similar to those used by some residents of Amsterdam. The boat is set up as if the family where merely out running errands or at the cinema and will return at any moment.

Across from the Anne Frank House is the tulip museum. The small museum offers a multimedia presentation of the famous flower including its history.

The Dam square

The Dam square is known for its historical value and is often an important part of many Amsterdam tours. The beauty and the historical background of this Dam make it a part of every tourist’s visit, when touring Amsterdam. The various fascinating things about the Dam are also documented in the historical museum of Amsterdam.

Amsterdam Canal Cruise

Holiday in Amsterdam can never be complete without the Amsterdam Canal Cruise, through its magnificent and incredible canals. Cruising through canals is the best way to cherish Amsterdam tour, as you get to see marvelous 17th century houses and mansions, as well as startling architecture.

However, Night life in Amsterdam is something different and it gives the true sense of amusement. The whole city at night lights up with colorful sparkling lights which creates nothing but a spell of romantic atmosphere which invites its visitors warmly.

Summer may be the time when most of the tourists come to visit but The Netherlands offers something for residents and visitors any time of the year.
